God I love this thing. The scholarship on hinged case Rolex is sparse. Now, I would group the Marconi, the Egyptian, and certain Army’s in this category, but with specific example, it becomes even more peculiar. Only a few 3-digit ref. hinged case weirdos have popped up over the years. What we know is that production ran anywhere between 1935-1949…relatively. Furthermore, we have seen these fitted with either articulating or fixed lugs and either manual or automatic movements. Truth be told, it’s hard to find concrete info on these but nonetheless, they are incredibly cool. Plus, lug-to-lug this thing is 38.8mm and wears like a dream.
